The Golden Eagles jumped out early running the floor and playing smothering defense in the 1st quarter holding Mississinewa to 2 points while scoring 15. They kept that intensity going the 2nd quarter taking a commanding lead to the half up 36-10 and deflating the Indians. This puts the Golden Eagles 4-0, and 1-0 to start conference play. In the first half senior RJ Shugart led the way with 14 of his 15 points, and in the 2nd half Will Tonagel scored 11 of his game high 19 points to go along with his 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Jace Tonagel poured in 11 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Jayden Younce scored 6 points with 5 rebounds and a pair of assists. Luke Elzinga had 4 points, Cruzan 3, and KD Simmons 2 points to round out the scoring. Weather permitting, the Eagles travel tomorrow for another triple header to Maconaquah with a 5pm freshman game tipoff, with the JV and Varsity to follow.
