The OHTF Lady Eagles split their squad up Saturday competing in both the Goshen Relays as well as the Frankfort Invitational. Despite spreading the varsity out over two locations the Lady Eagles still managed an impressive Runner Up Finish at the 12 Team 35th Annual Goshen Relays as well as a Top 3 Finish at the 7 Team Frankfort Hot Dog Invitational. Unlike the boys, the girls Goshen Relays was all 1 class event with no divisions meaning the Lady Eagles were competing against schools of all sizes. The Lady Eagles still managed to collect 73 points trailing just host Goshen at 78 for the team title. In all the Lady Eagles won 1 event, collected 3 runner up finishes, as well as an additional 4 top 3 finishes. Senior Lady Eagle Ellie Campbell led the way winning the Long Jump, taking 2nd in the High Jump, and being part of both the 2nd place Intermediate Sprint Medley Relay and the 4th Place 4x100 Meter Relay. In doing all this Campbell earned enough points to be named the meet's Most Points Most Valuable Athlete. By scoring over 15 points she also passed Janae Moffitt and became the OHTF Lady Eagles All Time Career Points Leader. This past week she had joined Margo Hornocker, Krista Hobbs, and Moffitt as the only Lady Eagles to surpass 600 points for their career. Moffitt's record was 630.75 set between 2012 -2015. Campbell was joined on the 2nd place sprint relay by Sophomores Annie Hale and Erika Newhouse along with Freshman Lilly Hunt. The 4x1 consisted of Campbell along with classmates Riley Alfandre and Cail Bowlin as well as Hale. Freshman Bri Dailey added big points by taking 3rd in the High Jump behind Campbell. Dailey also was part of the 3rd place 4x400 Meter Relay team with Juniors Lexi Nuber and Audrey Rex along with Sophomore Lilly Edwards. Individually Nuber took a solid 3rd in the 100 Meter Hurdles. Edwards was part of another 3rd place finish in the Distance Medley Relay joining Hunt along with Junior Biruk Travis and Freshman Rossi Skinner. Senior Lady Eagles thrower Jennessa Shields earned a 2nd place in the Shot Put and 7th in the Disc. Newhouse also added a 5th in Long Jump behind Campbell while classmate Quinn Brunner grabbed an 8th in the 1600 Meter Run. Brunner's time in a solid field was good for the 8th all time mark in Program History. Newhouse, Brunner, Hunt, and Travis managed an 8th in the 4x800 Meter Relay. Bowlin scored with an 8th in the 100 Meter Dash while Senior Gwen Thompson was 8th in the Shot Put. At Frankfort the Lady Eagles finished 3rd behind Lewis Cass and Logansport. Their best finishes came from Senior Abby Sneed and Freshman Emi Babinski who both took runner up honors in the Pole Vault and 400 Meter Dash. Sneed was closely followed in the Pole Vault by Junior Ava Kieth for a 2-3 finish. Juniors Addison Carey and Sophia Rowland both took 3rd in their respective events the 800 Meter Run and High Jump while Freshman Brooklyn Young-Shot Put, Freshman Alexei Butche-300 Meter Hurdles, and Junior Kaitlyn Scalf-1600 Meter Run all collected 4th place finishes.
